The Los Angeles Lakers continue to reshape their basketball operations department, announcing Tuesday that Rohan Ramadas has been named assistant general manager of strategy and data systems. In the newly created role, Ramadas will oversee basketball analytics and strategic initiatives as the franchise continues to expand its front office infrastructure.

Lakers President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Rob Pelinka praised the addition, emphasizing the value Ramadas brings to the organization’s growing analytics and salary cap departments.

“Rohan is an important and strong addition to our front office as we further build out our basketball operations resources,” Pelinka said. “His unique blend of career experiences and analytical expertise will further strengthen the strong work already taking place internally within our data analytics and salary cap management teams.”

Ramadas joins the Lakers after spending nine seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans organization. He most recently served as vice president of strategy and basketball operations, helping guide the franchise’s analytical and roster-building efforts. His tenure with New Orleans included seven years as an analytics consultant before transitioning into a full-time executive role over the past two seasons.
