The Arizona Diamondbacks continued their red-hot stretch Wednesday, defeating the San Francisco Giants 3-2 at Oracle Park to complete another series sweep and extend their dominance over their NL West rivals. Arizona has now beaten San Francisco in all six meetings this season and improved to 31-24 on the year.

Right-hander Michael Soroka turned in another strong outing for Arizona, allowing two runs while keeping the Giants’ offense under control through six innings. Soroka entered the game with a 3.27 ERA and improved his impressive run of starts during the Diamondbacks’ recent surge.

San Francisco jumped ahead early with timely hitting from Luis Arraez, but the Diamondbacks slowly chipped away before taking the lead in the seventh inning. Geraldo Perdomo delivered the game-winning sacrifice fly, scoring the go-ahead run and silencing the Oracle Park crowd.

Arizona’s bullpen handled the rest. The Giants threatened late in the game, but a key defensive play at the plate helped preserve the lead. Willy Adames was thrown out trying to score in the eighth inning during a risky send from third base coach Hector Borg.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo praised his club’s resilience after the win.

“These guys continue to battle every inning,” Lovullo said. “We’re finding ways to win close games, and that’s what good teams do.”

Ketel Marte continued to pace Arizona offensively during the series. Marte entered Wednesday with nine home runs and has been one of the club’s hottest hitters throughout May. Corbin Carroll also remained productive near the top of the lineup, carrying a batting average near .300 with a .579 slugging percentage entering the matchup.

The Diamondbacks’ recent turnaround has been dramatic. Arizona was sitting below .500 earlier this month before rattling off a dominant stretch against division opponents. The club is now firmly in the National League Wild Card race and gaining momentum heading into its next road series.
