Joyce Edwards led the charge with 22 points, guiding four South Carolina players in double figures as the No. 3 Gamecocks dominated Arkansas 93-58 on Thursday night.

Edwards, ranked third in SEC scoring, finished just above her season average while playing only 25 minutes, as coach Dawn Staley began substituting early in the third quarter.

The Gamecocks (16-1, 3-0 SEC) surged to a 17-point lead in the first quarter and held steady until halftime.

Arkansas (11-7, 0-3) kept pace early with three 3-pointers and seven offensive rebounds against South Carolina's typically dominant rebounding edge.

In the third quarter, South Carolina pulled away with a 15-2 run, building a 33-point lead. Arkansas struggled, matching their five turnovers with five field goals, as the Gamecocks capitalized on 30 points from Arkansas' 23 turnovers.

Tessa Johnson added 19 points for South Carolina, with Raven Johnson and Madina Okot each contributing 14.

Jada Bates, Arkansas' lowest-scoring player (2.1 ppg), set a career high with 16 points.

South Carolina, unbeaten in SEC play since December 30, 2021, extended their series win streak over Arkansas to 11 games. The Razorbacks have now dropped four in a row.

The Gamecocks' dominance in SEC play highlights their strong team cohesion and depth, with multiple players stepping up to contribute offensively. Arkansas, despite their struggles, showed early resilience, but South Carolina's consistent pressure and efficient scoring proved too much for the Razorbacks to overcome in this matchup.
