Gideon Davidson: A potential prospect for the NFL

When I saw this young man break a long run in practice against a talented Clemson defense with a few NFL prospects his freshmen season, I knew he was destined for greatness. Well on Saturday I would like to say this young man named Gideon Davidson had his breakout game against UNC.

As a result of 16 carries, Davidson accumulated 105 rushing yards at an average of 6.6 yards per carry. The fourth quarter saw him score his first touchdown of his young career. After a 10-yard touchdown, Clemson took the lead, and that was one of the most important scores.

Saturday's win saw glimpses of the future of Clemson's offense with Davidson's true freshman quarterback Tait Reynolds. Reynolds made his first-ever start in college football.

Clemson's offense benefitted from a two-hour lightning delay because the offense started slow in the first half. So, to start with, they wanted to show off the energy their offense could truly bring. And they did just that by scoring three touchdowns in the second half after heading into the break down 17-6. 

Davidson's impressive performance against UNC not only showcased his potential but also solidified his place as a key player in Clemson's offensive strategy moving forward. His ability to break through strong defenses and make crucial plays under pressure indicates a promising future. With continued development and experience, Davidson is poised to become a cornerstone of the team, possibly attracting NFL attention.
