Atlanta making a push to secure home court in the first round of the playoffs

In Monday's 95-84 victory over the New York Liberty, Jordan Canada scored 19 points, and Angel Reese contributed 18 points and 10 rebounds.

The Dream (29-14) moved closer to clinching a top four seed in the WNBA playoffs with 17 points from DeWanna Bonner and 16 points from Rhyne Howard. The Dream would have home court in the playoffs if it beats New York on Wednesday or loses to Indiana in one of its final two games.

After having their three-game winning streak end, the Liberty (26-17) will have to travel to the first round of the playoffs.

By the end of the third quarter, Atlanta had a 73-62 lead thanks to Allisha Gray and Howard. Gray scored 12 points in the second half after a scoreless first half, including seven during a 9-2 run. With 10 points in the quarter, Howard took over.

Several times, New York came within eight but could not get any closer.

Breanna Stewart led the Liberty with 27 points and 14 rebounds. With 18 points and 12 rebounds, Jonquel Jones finished with a double-double.
