Shohei Ohtani homered twice and collected four hits as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Colorado Rockies 11–5 on Monday night at Coors Field.
Ohtani went 4-for-5 with four runs and three RBIs, leading a Dodgers offense that produced 14 hits and scored in five different innings. His two home runs raised his season total to 28.
Max Muncy supplied the biggest early blow, launching a three-run homer during a four-run third inning that gave Los Angeles a commanding 5–0 advantage. Muncy finished with two hits, three RBIs and two runs.
Freddie Freeman added three hits and scored twice, while Andy Pages went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Mookie Betts drove in two runs as the Dodgers repeatedly capitalized on Colorado pitching and a pair of Rockies errors.
The offensive support was more than enough for Blake Snell. The left-hander allowed one run and two hits across six innings, striking out five and walking three. He earned the victory after throwing 64 of his 90 pitches for strikes.
Los Angeles built an 11–2 lead before Colorado scored three times in the ninth. The late rally changed the final margin but never seriously threatened the Dodgers’ control of the game.
The victory improved Los Angeles to 75–51 and extended its lead in the National League West to eight games. Colorado fell to 50–75.
