Clemson's Death Valley has secured a top five spot in USA Today's ranking of the 25 premier college football venues for the 2025 season. Known for its electric atmosphere and devoted fan base, the stadium offers a one-of-a-kind experience. The iconic tradition of players running down the hill, famously called "the most exciting 25 seconds in college football," adds to the thrill. Nestled in a scenic setting, Death Valley is visually stunning and a challenging environment for visiting teams. The roaring crowd creates an intimidating atmosphere, disrupting opponents' focus and giving the Tigers a significant home-field advantage. This energy often proves decisive in close games, contributing to Clemson's impressive home record.
Some consider this to be the other Death Valley. There is no way to underestimate how Memorial Stadium can wobble the knees of any visiting team. Good luck if you have to play a night game at the stadium because the atmosphere is unmatched. Clemson recently had a 40-game home winning streak, the longest in ACC history, before it was snapped late in the 2022 season. The program also has a memorable tradition of running down The Hill toward the field and rubbing Howard’s Rock. This is to gain “the mystical power it gives Clemson players,” the school says.
