The Tigers' season ended Sunday with a 16-4 loss to Kentucky in the Clemson Regional. Right-handed sophomore Luke Brown and lefty redshirt freshman Jackson Cole entered the portal on Monday.
After pitching in five games his freshman year, Brown pitched 2.1 innings this season. He allowed seven hits and seven runs while walking one and striking out three. In his lone appearance in 2024, he pitched one inning in relief, allowing one hit and a run with one walk and one strikeout.
Cole, meanwhile, was redshirted in 2024 before tossing 3.2 innings across six appearances this season. The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder yielded six hits and seven runs (six earned) while walking four and striking out one.
Both players may be seeking more playing time and opportunities to develop their skills at another program. Additionally, they could be looking for a team environment that better suits their personal and athletic goals. The chance to start fresh and potentially have a greater impact on the field might be motivating factors in their decision to transfer.
Best of luck to both guys in the future.
