Army defeats Navy in historical manner 20-17

The pageantry of the Army vs Navy game is second to none with an event displaying traditions at every turn. This year, the game was at Lincoln Financial field, and the excitment was there, before the start of the iconic game.

Navy's Nichols hit a 44-yard field goal for the games first points. With 1:16 left in the half N. Short blocks a punt attempt by Navy's Reithman and recovered by N. Smith in the end zone for an Army TD. Navy's A. Hall ran it in for 77-yard touchdown to give Navy a 10-7 lead. After the score, Army answered the call and drove the length of the field to kick a field goal to tie the game up and force an extra period.

Both teams scored on their opening drive, but Army got the last laugh. In the second OT, Navy fumbled the ball and Army recovered the ball. A couple plays later, Army knocked in a field goal to crush Navy's chances of forcing another OT.
