AEW announces new Saturday night show “Collison”

The Summer of AEW officially heats up on Wednesday after their major announcement of a new Saturday night show “Collision” will debut live on TNT on June 17th. The show will be a 2 hour show which will feature some of the best wrestlers in the world such as Miro, Samoa Joe, Thunder Rosa, Powerhouse Hobbs, and the returning Andrade El Idolo.

The big rumor for this new show is that it will feature former AEW World Champion CM Punk who controversially was taken off and indefinitely suspended after his real life brawl with AEW management and current faction “The Elite.” Punk may be the most controversial wrestler that has ever put on a pair of boots however he is a huge ratings draw. The first episode of Collision will air in Chicago which is the hometown of Punk.

The popularity of AEW has reached an apex for Turner Broadcasting AEW is the featured show across numerous stations. In addition to “Collision,” AEW already has “Dynamite” on TBS on Wednesdays and “Rampage” on TNT on Fridays. The company also has the unscripted series “AEW: All Access,” which airs immediately after “Dynamite.” That means, with the addition of “Collision,” AEW will now be responsible for six hours of weekly programming on TBS and TNT combined.

“With the addition of ‘AEW: Collision’ on TNT, I’m extremely proud that a Turner network will be the home of Saturday night wrestling for the first time in more than two decades,” said Tony Khan, CEO, GM and Head of Creative of AEW. “The debut of ‘Collision’ is significant across numerous sectors including television, wrestling, entertainment and sports, and reinforces AEW as the bold property we envisioned when we launched in 2019. ‘Collision’ will deliver live every Saturday night more of what fans and viewers tell us they want – athleticism, big personalities, exciting storylines and hard-hitting wrestling action, all of which have become synonymous with AEW.”
