Yankees gets their first win of the season


The Yankees are already off to a good start they defeated the San Francisco giants 5/0 on opening night. New Yor's Captain Aaron Judge hit his first career Opening Day home run with a solo shot in the first inning. RHP Gerrit Cole surpasses Tim Leary’s previous record of 9K in 1991 with 11K (6.0IP, 3H, 0R, 2BB,) this is his fourth opening day with the Yankees.


Anthony Volpe (0-for-2, 1BB, 1SB) one of the Yankees youngest players stole first base in the fourth inning this is his first plate appearance in the major league. Volpe joins major league legends joins Mickey Mantle (19y, 179d in 1951), Ben Chapman (21y, 111d in 1930), Joe Pepitone (21y, 183d in 1962), Frankie Crosetti (21y,191d in 1932) and Billy Martin (21y, 337d in 1950) as the sixth youngest player to start opening day.


The Yankees are on fire with Gleyber Torres (1-for-3, 2R, 1HR, 2RBI, 1BB) two-run shot home run in the fourth in his first career opening. It’s a great day for first timers on opening day. RHP Gerrit Cole (6.0IP, 3H, 0R, 2BB, 11K) surpassed David cone with this being his 22 double digit strike out with the Yankees.
