Urgent Reminder: Breeders’ Cup 2024 Foal Nominations Deadline Approaching

Breeders’ Cup Limited has issued an important reminder to all Thoroughbred breeders: the final deadline to nominate foals born in 2024 to the prestigious Breeders’ Cup program is Tuesday, October 15, at 11:59 p.m. ET. The one-time nomination fee is set at $400, a small price for a chance at a lifetime of eligibility in one of the most significant events in Thoroughbred racing.

The $400 weanling nomination not only secures eligibility for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships but also opens the door to various Breeders’ Cup racing programs. Any foal sired by a fully nominated North American Breeders' Cup stallion can be nominated at this weanling rate during their year of birth.

For over 40 years, the Breeders’ Cup has been the hallmark of Thoroughbred racing, allocating more than $1 billion in purses and awards to owners, foal nominators, and stallion nominators. The annual Breeders' Cup World Championships showcase the finest Thoroughbreds, owners, trainers, and jockeys to an international audience, solidifying its status as a premier racing festival.

Additionally, Breeders’ Cup foal nominators stand to gain significant rewards. For every victory in the worldwide Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series: Win and You’re In, nominators will earn $10,000 USD. Furthermore, any horse that competes in a Breeders’ Cup World Championship race will also yield a nominator award. Notably, the individual who nominates the foal will receive these awards, regardless of whether the horse changes ownership throughout its racing career.

With the deadline fast approaching, breeders are encouraged to take action promptly to ensure their foals are part of this elite racing program. Don’t miss this opportunity to secure a future filled with potential and prestige in Thoroughbred racing!
