Tokyo Olympics will have limit attendance

Tokyo- The IOC has changed its tune with only allowing limited attendance at the Olympic games, due to the global pandemic.

At the end of May, the IOC was very optimistic that more fans could potentially be in the stands to watch the games, but recently their tune and tone has changed. Event organizers has stated that they will allow around a max capacity of 10,000 people. Those 10,000 people will include people connected to sponsors, along with diplomats and other special guests.

The larger scaled competitions, as well as events after 9 PM will be held without spectators. IOC president, Thomas Bach, will meet Japanese government and Olympic officials to discuss attendance caps this Thursday, which will be the same day the prime minister, Yoshihide Suga, is expected to extend the quasi-state of emergency in Tokyo.
