The winner for the 147th Kentucky Derby is Medina Spirit

This year, there is a little bit of normal life at the Churchill Downs for the 147th Kentucky Derby. The race had over 40% of capacity, as fans watched the greatest two minutes of their lives. Prior to the race, Essential Quality, Known Agenda, and Like The king were among the favorites to win the race.

As the sun settled and the race was starting. It was apparent that normal life was starting to return. The race started and at first all the horses was bunched in together. Around the track they went. Medina Spirit held the lead majority of the race until a huge push from Essential Quality and Hot Rod Charlie made the race interesting. With all three horses neck by neck, Medina Spirit upsets the world by crossing the finish line first and winning his trainer Bob Baffert the title of most wins at the Kentucky Derby (7).
