The Mavs advanced to the second round with a 114-101 win over the Clippers.

The Dallas Mavericks beat the Los Angeles Clippers 114-101 on Friday night after Luka Doncic had 28 points and 13 assists, while Kyrie Irving had 28 of his 30 points after halftime as the Mavericks won the game 114-101.

It was another tough day for Luka to make his shot, as he was struggling due to his winging right knee, while Kyrie spent most of his time playing defense. After all that happened, the two stars of the Dallas Mavericks came together for a second-half surge that sent Dallas to the second round as they played in their first postseason together. Having Irving alongside him this time, Doncic did what the Slovenian superstar was not able to do in Game 6 of the first-round playoff series with the Clippers three years ago, namely close out the Clippers in Dallas with a victory.

For the Clippers, Paul George had 18 points and 11 rebounds, while his team had won both games, they played without Kawhi Leonard in the series, but they lacked the scoring punch to make up for it after Leonard was sidelined by inflammation in his right knee for the final two games. LA lost in the first round for the second consecutive season despite trading for 10-time All-Star James Harden early in the season. He had 16 points and 13 assists but was just 5 of 16 from the field. After yet another playoff run being over due to injuries and struggles from their superstars, the Clippers have a major decision to make.
