The Critics Choice Association’s 4th Annual Celebration of Latino Cinema & Television

On October 22, 2024, the Egyptian Theatre played host to the Critics' Choice Association’s (CCA) 4th Annual Celebration of Latino Cinema & Television, a night dedicated to honoring the remarkable contributions of Latino talent in the entertainment industry. This prestigious event brought together a vibrant community of artists, critics, and industry leaders to celebrate outstanding performances and groundbreaking work from the Latino entertainment community.


Who Took the Stage

The evening was hosted by Clayton Davis, a prominent figure in film criticism. The event recognized a diverse array of honorees for their exceptional contributions to film and television. Among the notable winners were:


  • Adriana Barraza, awarded the Actress Award for Film.

  • Camila Perez, Enrique Arrizon, and Sam Laybourne, accepting the Comedy Series Award on behalf of Acapulco.

  • Emayatzy Corinealdi, who received the Actress Award for Series.

  • Fede Alvarez, honored with the Vanguard Award.

  • Fernanda Torres, recognized with the Actress Award for International Film.

  • Francesca Sloane, who received the Showrunner Award.

  • Gloria Calderón Kellett, awarded the Hyphenate Award.

  • Issa López, honored with the Director Award for Series.

  • Joaquín Cosío and Renata Vaca, accepting the International Series Award for Familia de Medianoche (Midnight Family).

The Critics Choice Association

The Critics Choice Association, established in 2019 through the merger of the Broadcast Film Critics Association and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association, is the largest critics organization in the United States and Canada. Representing over 600 media critics and entertainment journalists, the CCA plays a crucial role in recognizing excellence in film, television, and streaming content.

As the night came to a close, it was clear that the 4th Annual Celebration of Latino Cinema & Television not only honored individual achievements but also celebrated the collective progress of the Latino community within the entertainment landscape.
