South Carolina continues to excel and will face LSU on Thursday

Brandon Harley

Two days after signing a huge contract which makes her the highest-paid coach in women's basketball history, Dawn Staley extended her streak to 53 straight SEC regular-season wins and 68 straight at Colonial Life Arena, with a 101-60 win over No. 13 Oklahoma

MiLaysia "LAY" Fulwiley scored 15 points and dominated early on with her athleticism. Fulwiley added to her highlight reel by finishing an acrobatic midair assist from Raven Johnson. She swiped a ball near Oklahoma’s bench that she turned into a one-handed, over-the-head assist to Bree Hall for a layup, and hit a 30-foot 3-pointer to beat the buzzer, which happened all in the first quarter. It was her day. Super freshman Joyce Edwards led South Carolina with 17 points.

The Gamecocks outscored the Sooners in the opening period and never looked back.

Sooners All-America center Raegan Beers finished with 23 points and eight rebounds. Payton Verhulst, coming off a 38-point game in a win over Missouri, only scored three.

The Gamecocks are three games into a five-game stretch against ranked opponents and have won them all by an average 25.3points.

Thursday the undefeated LSU Tigers are coming to town so get your popcorn ready. This should be an epic game as two undefeated teams adds an extra layer of excitement to the upcoming game against LSU.  With both teams ranked among the top in the nation, it promises to be a thrilling contest that could have significant implications for conference standings and national rankings.
