With college football about to start up in the next week or so, there have been some headlines with certain coaches not really happy with their ranking, heading into the season. One of the coaches, who lead his team into the playoffs and beat out Thanos (Alabama) for the 12th and last spot in the playoffs was Rhett Lashlee.

SMU was a Cinderella team in so many ways last season and their hopes off a National Championship fell short as Penn State put up 38 points on them. However, that is old news! Maybe, that lost to Penn State hurt SMU to the point that they come into this season ranked 20th in the nation. Coach Lashlee felt like the ranking was more rigged for the bigger schools more than anything and expressed himself on social media.

Even though they are ranked 20th right now, they have a lot of weapons on both sides of the ball. I would not be surprised if they are in that conversation of making a consecutive playoff appearance.
