Clemson delivered one of its strongest performances of the season Saturday night, defeating Florida State 36-24 at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee. The Tigers built a commanding lead before surviving a late Seminoles comeback to secure an important ACC victory.
Clemson quarterback Tait Reynolds helped lead the offense, connecting with Christian Bentancur for an 18-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Florida State answered when Ashton Daniels connected with Micahi Danzy for a 46-yard touchdown, tying the game at 7-7.
The Tigers gradually took control, using a combination of offensive execution, defensive pressure and reliable kicking from Nolan Hauser. Clemson carried a 23-10 advantage into halftime and extended its lead to 29-10 in the second half.

Hauser was outstanding, converting all five of his field-goal attempts. Meanwhile, Clemson's defense created significant problems for Daniels, recording three interceptions and forcing a fumble.
Florida State refused to go away quietly. Daniels sparked a fourth-quarter rally with a 13-yard rushing touchdown before connecting with freshman Jasen Lopez for a 41-yard scoring strike. The Seminoles trimmed the deficit to 29-24 with just over five minutes remaining.
However, Reynolds delivered the knockout blow, breaking free for a spectacular 79-yard rushing touchdown to put the game away.
Daniels finished with 350 passing yards and two touchdown passes, while Danzy recorded 108 receiving yards.
The victory improved Clemson to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in ACC play, while Florida State dropped to 3-5 and 1-4 in conference action. The Tigers' balanced performance provided a much-needed boost heading into the final stretch of the season.
