SMU ranked 16th in preseason poll

Last season, SMU shocked the world as they were one of the explosive teams in the nation. Kevin Jennings and Chris Johnson Jr. set the world ablaze as they turned their underdog story into a testimony. SMU did so well that they beat out Alabama for that last spot in the playoffs. Despite not going deep in the playoffs, they were knocked out by Penn State 38-10.

I do not know if that game was the deciding factor with SMU being ranked 16th coming into this season, but it's going to be very interesting to see if that ranking pushes them and fuels them to make some noise. Only time will tell, but everyone at SMU is feeling pretty optimistic about the upcoming season.
