Lakers win in-tournament championship against Pacers 123-109

The NBA introduced the NBA in-tournament this season and Adam Silver was very pleased to see so many viewers tuning in to see the new format. It was only fitting with 500k and bragging rights on the line that both the Pacers and the Lakers went head to head in the match-ups of the undefeated.

If you wanted to see a fast pace game, mixed in with some physcial play, you were in for a treat as each team skated down the floor in the first half. Anthony Davis was very aggressive, as he punished the Pacers in the paint. Davis had 17 at the half. I don't know who told Austin Reaves that he needed to turn it on, but Reaves listened. In the second quarter only, the I AM HIM Reaves went off and scored 11 points in the quarter. Despite Reaves and Davis having a major impact, LeBron James had three fouls going into the second half.

James was like screw those fouls and poured it on the Pacers at the start of the third. He had the give me the ball and get out my way mentality and tore right through Indiana's defense. In a blink of an eye, the Lakers extended their lead to double digits and forced the Pacers to call a timeout to regroup. Each time it looked like the Lakers would bust the game wide open, the Pacers would go on a run and get themselves back in the game,

Davis did all he could to keep his team afloat late in the game. From blocking shots to getting second chance opportunities on the board for his team, he was doing it all. With his play late in the game, he helped his team win their first in-tournament championship. AD finished with 41 points and 20 rebounds.
