Lakers scrap out a victory against the Clippers in preseason debut 87-81

Los Angeles- Behind Kyle Kuzma's 18 points, the Lakers defeated the Clippers in a nail biter 87-81.

Coming off a Finals' championship, the Lakers did not miss a beat in their first preseason game against the Clippers. Kuzma came out of the gate hitting a couple of mid range jump shots on the offensive end and on the defensive end, he defended the perimeter pretty well. Kuzma was the spark that the Lake show needed down the stretch. He finished the game with 18 points, 5 assists, and 2 rebounds.

The Lakers' second unit hit a couple of key shots in the fourth quarter to keep the pesky' Clippers at bay and went on to win the game. Second chance opportunities helped the Lakers pull out the victory. They had a total of 46 rebounds, which turned into 20 fast break points for the team. Four players scored double figure in the victory.

The win was good for the first start of the season, but the Lakers need to control their turnover rate. They turned the ball over 17 times, which turned into 10 fastbreak points for the Clippers. Other than that, they did a good job containing the Clippers second unit.
