Josh Allen is the favorite to win MVP from the Caesars sportsbook perspective

Buffalo Bills quarterback, Josh Allen, has made improvements each year since being drafted into the NFL where he played his college ball at Wyoming. He has always been labeled a “big arm” threat and a tough build sitting in the pocket. What scouts may not have seen is the fact that Allen not only can take hits, but his dual threat ability to scramble for yards and deliver physicality to defenses has been an impressive start to his 2-1 2022 season campaign.

Prior to the kickoff in Week 1 of the NFL season, Caesars sportsbook favored the odds for Josh Allen to win the NFL MVP at a +650 favorite followed by +750 Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The past two weeks have had impact on both Allen, but Mahomes now sits at +300 with a prior dominating win on Monday Night Football against the Tennessee Titans, but then a loss to division opponent Miami Dolphins. Mahomes fluctuated to as low as +450 to now +500 in spite of the loss against the Indianapolis Colts.

Allen has been the most popular NFL MVP bet according to Caesar’s Sportsbook as he has accrued 11.5% of the total tickets submitted. Since the season started, he now tops both 20.8% of the tickets and 41.3% of the handle, which is clear that Allen is the player that bettors are taking nearly three-and-a-half times more than any other player.

It should be mentioned that trailing Allen and Mahomes might be two dark horses to win the NFL MVP that have shown multiple signs of growth and their teams are succeeding in the current season. Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles odds have grown to +700, tied with Baltimore Raven’s quarterback Lamar Jackson at +700 as well. Keep your eye on Miami Dolphins’ QB Tua Tagovailoa to continue to climb and put himself in the race if the team continues to win and he stays healthy. The quarterbacks that have trended in the wrong direction were at one time favorites to win the NFL MVP but now sit towards the bottom of the odds that include Justin Herbert +900, Tom Brady +900, Aaron Rodgers 18/1 and lastly Joe Burrow 25/1 odds. If the Sportsbooks have any indication, Josh Allen will hoist the NFL MVP trophy at the NFL awards presentation in January 2023.
