Having played for Texas for two seasons, Jordan Lee will transfer to South Carolina's women's basketball team.
This marks the first transfer portal addition for coach Dawn Staley since the season ended.
Lee, a 6-foot guard for the Longhorns, averaged 13.2 points, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game. On April 14, she and 2026 recruit Olivyah Edwards visited Columbia. Texas and South Carolina have met seven times in the past two seasons. The Gamecocks are 4-3 since 2024-25 but went 1-2 this season, including a loss in the SEC Tournament championship game. Lee averaged 8.7 points against the Gamecocks.
In some ways, Lee's playing style parallels Ta'Niya Latson's spot-up shooting, which Staley still has in Tessa Johnson. Lee shot 48.2% from two-point range this season and 34.8% from three-point range, taking 5.3 shots per game from three-point range. In SEC play, her numbers didn't really take a dip, averaging 12.4.
Staley now has two athletic, tall guards who can shoot the ball both inside and outside in her backcourt.
Not only does Lee possess undeniable skill, he also has plenty of experience in the SEC and is no stranger to the fast-paced, physical offense and defense necessary to thrive there.
In the SEC championship game, she scored 12 points while grabbing four rebounds, giving three assists, and blocking one shot. She shot 5-of-9 from the field (55.6%) and also made two 3-pointers.
