Jets' offense frozen as they lost their eighth game of the season

The New York Jets managed to score 8 points in today’s loss against the Atlanta Falcons. What will be the headline is that the Jets were not able to score a touchdown Sunday. Two field goals and a safety resulted in the 8 points, and the Jets quarterback Tim Boyle struggled completing only 14 of 25 passes and 1 interception. New York turned the ball over three times with 2 fumbles lost and an interception, and ultimately played a very sloppy, and heavily penalized game.

Atlanta played with poise in addition to penalty free football. The Falcons did not commit any penalties in the game and played well enough to take over first place in the NFL South. Atlanta now evens their record to 6-6 on the year and will end the year playing 3 of their last 5 games against NFC South opponents. The Jets drop to 4-8 on the season with heavy criticism on what has occurred this year. Injuries will always deter progress throughout a season, and New York’s health has been an issue all year, but for today’s game the Jets defense held Atlanta to 13 points, but did not get any help from their offense. The Jets find themselves towards the bottom of the AFC East division, and will host the Texans next weekend.
