Elaine Thompson proves once again that she is the fastest woman in the world

Oregon- Elaine Thompson proves that she is the woman to beat in the 100M.

The Super Bowl of track and field was must see T.V. on Saturday. After serving a month suspension and missing the Tokyo Olympics, Sha'Carri Richardson was excited to be back on the track at the Prefontaine Classic. Richardson would face a Jamaican Olympic group, who completed a podium sweep in the 100m in Tokyo. Prior to the 100m event, it was a little chirping back and forth between the U.S. and Jamaica on social media. Richardson, Thompson Herah, Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce, and Shericka Jackson all had something to prove and that was being the fastest woman in the event.

As the gun sounded, Richardson got out the blocks a little late and she never recovered. Elaine Thompson broke the finish line first with a time of 10:54, while Richardson came in 9th place. After the race, Richardson had a few words to say. "This is one race, one. I am here to stay. You can count me out, but I will be back."
