The Los Angeles Dodgers entered the series against the New York Mets fresh off a loss to the Texas Rangers.   LA looked to turn the tide and defend their league leading record of 11-4 by defeating the New York Mets 4-0, extending their overall record to 12 -4

The offense came to life early on, as Will Smith singled to CF allowing Ohtani to score.   Andy Pages hit a three-run homer in the 3rd as the LAD beat the hapless Mets in a matchup between two of baseball’s biggest spenders. The two-time defending World Series champion Dodgers have won eight of 10 and lead the NL West.

Shohei Ohtani extended his career-high on-base streak to 47 games after getting hit on his upper right shoulder. LA will take on NY in game 2 of this series tomorrow night.
