The Los Angeles Dodgers delivered an offensive explosion Saturday night, crushing the Los Angeles Angels 15-2 in the second game of the Freeway Series at Angel Stadium.

Shohei Ohtani stole the spotlight against his former team, finishing 3-for-6 with five RBIs and two runs scored. The Dodgers superstar delivered a two-run triple in the eighth inning before adding a three-run double in the ninth as Los Angeles posted its highest-scoring game of the season.

“We just kept the pressure on,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after the game. “Shohei was incredible tonight, but honestly the entire lineup contributed.”

Mookie Betts also had a big night at the plate, blasting a solo home run in the eighth inning while finishing with two hits and two runs scored. Will Smith, Max Muncy and Andy Pages all contributed offensively as the Dodgers totaled 14 hits in the dominant victory.

Dodgers starter Justin Wrobleski turned in a strong outing on the mound, allowing just two runs over six innings to earn the win. The Angels managed only limited offense outside of a two-run double from Jo Adell.

The game remained close through the early innings as Angels starter José Soriano worked through traffic and kept the Dodgers off the board. Los Angeles finally broke through in the sixth inning with a five-run rally fueled by patient at-bats and timely hitting.

Ohtani’s biggest moment came in the eighth when he ripped a two-run triple into right field, bringing Dodgers fans to their feet. The Dodgers then added five more runs in the ninth inning to completely put the game away.

“Anytime you can contribute to a win like that, it feels good,” Ohtani said. “The offense was locked in all night.”
