The Los Angeles Dodgers suffered a rough 9-3 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Monday night at Dodger Stadium, as the Giants’ offense erupted late to take control of the series opener.

San Francisco broke open a tied game with a six-run final three innings, handing the Dodgers their third straight loss. Rafael Devers led the way for the Giants with a home run, two RBIs, and three runs scored, while Willy Adames added three RBIs in the victory.

The game was tied 3-3 entering the seventh inning before the Giants capitalized on Dodgers bullpen struggles. Reliever Alex Vesia surrendered key runs in the seventh, and San Francisco kept adding insurance runs late, including a bases-loaded walk and another RBI hit from Adames in the ninth inning.

Max Muncy provided most of the offense for Los Angeles, blasting his 11th home run of the season and driving in two runs. He also added an RBI single earlier in the game. However, the Dodgers struggled in key situations, finishing just 2-for-9 with runners in scoring position. Shohei Ohtani went hitless in five at-bats during another difficult night at the plate.

Roki Sasaki started for Los Angeles and kept the Dodgers in the game early, allowing three runs before turning the ball over to the bullpen. The Giants bullpen dominated the rest of the way, retiring hitters consistently and allowing only one hit over the final innings.

Mookie Betts returned to the Dodgers lineup after missing more than a month with injury, finishing 1-for-5 in his first game back. Despite the loss, his return gave Los Angeles a positive development as the team looks to regroup during the four-game series.
