The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) are using one of the club’s most popular fan traditions to provide humanitarian aid for those affected by the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela.
The organization announced Tuesday that net proceeds from the July 8 LADF 50/50 Raffle at Dodger Stadium will be donated to the American Red Cross Venezuela Earthquakes Fund, helping provide emergency assistance to communities impacted by the recent disaster.
In an effort to maximize the fundraising campaign, the Dodgers also pledged to match the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation’s contribution, effectively doubling the impact of every dollar raised through the raffle.
The funds will support critical relief efforts, including emergency medical care, food assistance, clean drinking water, temporary shelter, sanitation services, and other humanitarian resources for families recovering from the earthquakes.
Fans attending Wednesday’s game at Dodger Stadium can participate by purchasing 50/50 raffle tickets from roaming sellers throughout the ballpark or at designated raffle kiosks. Ticket sales will remain open through the end of the seventh inning.
As with every LADF 50/50 Raffle, half of the jackpot will be awarded to one winning ticket holder, while the remaining net proceeds will be directed toward the designated charitable cause—in this case, disaster relief efforts in Venezuela.
The initiative reflects the Dodgers’ longstanding commitment to community service both locally and globally. While the franchise is best known for its success on the field—including nine World Series championships and back-to-back World Series titles in 2024 and 2025—the organization has also earned recognition for its charitable impact. The Dodgers were previously honored as ESPN’s Sports Humanitarian Team of the Year for their commitment to using sports as a platform for positive change.
The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation has become one of Major League Baseball’s leading charitable organizations. Through its “Lasting Impact for Los Angeles” strategic plan, LADF has invested more than $80 million in programs and grants focused on education, health, homelessness prevention, and social justice initiatives. Since its founding, the foundation says it has positively impacted more than 11.5 million young people.
By directing proceeds from Wednesday’s raffle toward international disaster relief, the Dodgers and LADF are extending that mission beyond Southern California, giving fans an opportunity to contribute directly to emergency aid while attending the game.
The July 8 fundraiser serves as another example of how professional sports organizations can leverage their platforms to provide meaningful support during times of global crisis, with every raffle ticket purchased helping deliver urgently needed assistance to those affected by the earthquakes in Venezuela.
