Despite a sluggish start, No. 5 LSU overwhelmed Louisiana Tech 87-61 on Saturday night, fueled by Mikaylah Williams' 19 points.

This marked coach Kim Mulkey's second win against her alma mater.
Flau’jae Johnson contributed 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Kate Koval added 13 points.
LSU unleashed a 17-3 surge late in the third quarter and early in the fourth to stretch its lead to 24 points. MiLaysia Fulwiley scored eight of her 10 points in the final quarter, helping the Tigers (11-0) secure the win over Louisiana Tech (5-4). Paris Bradley led Louisiana Tech with 19 points and seven rebounds, while Jianna Morris added 11 points.
Mulkey, a key figure in three Lady Techsters national championships—two as a player in 1981 and 1982, and one as an assistant coach in 1988—watched her team struggle early. LSU trailed 19-17 after the first quarter, as Louisiana Tech disrupted their layups and hit timely 3-pointers to stay competitive. The Tigers didn’t pull away until the final 2:27 of the third quarter, when they launched their decisive run.
In the second half, LSU displayed a dominant performance, significantly improving their offensive and defensive execution. They tightened their defense, limiting Louisiana Tech's scoring opportunities, while their offense became more efficient and aggressive. This shift in momentum allowed LSU to control the tempo and ultimately secure a comfortable victory.
