Demi Lovato's first stop on her 19-stop nationwide tour had her at the Kia Center where she opened to a huge response from the crowd, But it's not the setlist that people are talking about. It’s the Joe Jonas moment. She brought him out for Camp Rock classics “This Is Me” and “On The Line,” sparking a ton of posts on social media.
Beyond that, this feels like a very intentional shift for her. The clips coming out of opening night show a lot more choreography and structure than we’ve seen in a while, which makes sense with the direction of the new album.
She also debuted “Low Rise Jeans” and “Fantasy,” which can be a bit of a gamble. New songs can either land or get a quieter reaction, but these seem to be getting attention early. The set itself pulls from everything, older songs like “Skyscraper” and “Give Your Heart a Break,” mixed in with newer tracks that lean more into that dance-pop sound she’s been building. It doesn’t come off like she’s trying to reinvent herself. It feels more like she knows exactly what lane she wants to be in right now.
The tour moves to Washington, D.C. next, with stops in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Then it comes to a close on May 25th in Houston, TX at the Toyota Center. Special guest ADÉLA will join her throughout the tour. Tickets are available at DemiLovato.com/tour.
