David Beckham's new project includes a Disney series called Save Our Squad

Los Angeles- Soccer legend David Beckham has decided to take his talents to the screen and will partner up with Disney for a new series called Save Our Squad.

Beckham and his production team Studio 99 will tag team up with Twenty Twenty and will produce an up close and live series on the importance of mentoring younger athletes that play for East London football pitches.

Beckman, who played for East London football pitches when he started his career will give tips and advice to players that are struggling to find their stride in the league. Disney's commissioner Sean Dolye thought the series was perfect.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to show the importance and impact of grassroots football in communities in the U.K. The series will be exciting, dramatic, uplifting, full of heart and courage, which is everything David had in his own playing days.”

“It is fantastic to be making Save Our Squad with Twenty Twenty and to shine a light on the kind of grassroots football that I experienced growing up and which gave me so much at the start of my life in the game. I was so fortunate to have a long and successful playing career and now to have the opportunity to give back to these communities as a mentor is incredible. Developing and nurturing young talent is so important in the game and it is great to be working with Disney+ on this project, said Beckham.

Reportedly, the series will air in 2024.
