Dave Chappelle surprise guests with a concert to close out the 2021 Tribeca Festival
New York- Dave Chappelle premiered his documentary on the last day of the Tribeca festival and had a surprised concert.
Chappelle proposed an idea to his neighbors last year about helping him set up live events carefully in the town. Last year, Chappelle had live shows,which talked about racial tensions in America, police brutality, and the movement of the Black Lives Matter. With guests in attendance for the premiere of his film This Time This Place.
"This Time This Place," the film strikes a balance between laugh-out-loud and incredibly poignant moments to capture how the star-studded comedy shows, as well as the death of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement, affected the local town," said Chappell.
After the screening, Chappell told the crowd that they would be entertained by musical performers like Q-Tip, Talib Kweli, Fat Joe, A$AP Ferg, Redman, Ghostface Killah, DJ Clark Kent, and the group De La Soul with a surprised concert.
