The Indianaoplis Colts are looking for a consistent quarterback that can be present and available, as well as a beast at the position. The last few years for the Colts have gone from a bright and sunny disposition of optimism to an organization of doubt with Anthony Richardson. Coming out of the draft, Richardson was supposed to be the new face of the franchise, but injuries has plagued him early on in his young career. Last season, he threw for 1,814 yards, 8 touchdowns and 12 picks. Plus, on top of his injuries, he had set the tone of not caring about the team needs when he had checked himself out of a game, due to being fatigue.
During the course of playing tag you are the starting quarterback, the Colts attempted to bench Richardson and put in Joe Flacco in to revive the team. That did not work well in the second half of the season. Now, heading into training camp, the Colts have themselves a QB battle between Richardson and Daniel Jones.
"We’re just looking for consistency on a daily basis,” Steichen said earlier this offseason. “I mean, you look around the league, the teams that were in the playoffs, the quarterback play was consistent.”
Jones is also looking to shutter the lens of his image with the Giants and revive his career as a starter. So, heading into training camp, all eyes will be on the quarterback position and who can be a better fit. Jones is very grateful for the opportunity and has looked great with throwing the deep ball. We know that Jones can be a key factor with wins and his energy he brings to the tables is very addictive, but will it be enough to intrigue the Colts to start him. Only time will tell!
