On Sunday, the Colts' received some news that was very disheartening for their young running back During a practice run, Salvon Ahmed suffered an injury that looked very serious. On a running play, he was tackled and bent awkward from a hip tackle. He was carted off the field
"Never want to see that happen," Colts coach Shane Steichen said regarding the injury. "I know we don't encourage hip-drop tackles. I know Trey's down in the dumps, and I don't think he's trying to do that. We're just trying to create an edge. ... Those [backups] are going to have to tackle come preseason."
Ahmed has been trying to find a home since spending four years with the Dolphins. He was one of the players fighting for that back-up position, which is really deep.
