Cody Bellinger Saves The Day With a Massive walk off Home Run To Defeat the Cubs 3-2

LOS ANGELES- The Los Angeles Dodgers keep their hot streak going with a win over the Chicago Cubs 3-2.


After being on the injured list for about eight weeks, Cody Bellinger looked ready to ball out. Going into the Ninth inning with two outs and a very worried crowd, Bellinger knew what to do. After hitting a 422 solo shot to center, Bellinger gave the Dodgers their first walk off win of the season.

You could see the dugout filled with joy and pure excitement to run to home plate and greet the savior of the game. Since having a great season last year and a NL MVP in 2019, Bellinger has been dealing with a lot this year pertaining injuries and his confidence. After hitting the game winner Dodgers Manager Dave Robert’s had this to say about Bellinger "For him to get that hit, I think it was big for all of us.”

After this moonshot, fans and teammates hope that Bellinger can find his stride again. This was Bellinger third career walkoff victory. The last time he did this was in 2019 against the Arizona Diamondbacks..In this game, Bellinger had a home run in the second and the tenth inning to seal the deal.

While the hitting looked great, they couldn’t have done it without the pitching staff. Julio Urias had a career day on the mound. Striking out a career high 12 batters in five innings and allowing five hits and only two runs.

Next up for the Dodgers, star pitcher Clayton Kershaw (8-7) will battle for the sweep against Albert Alzolay (4-6).
