Breanna Stewart keeps her name in the MVP conversation with 21 points against the Wings
Bradenton, FL- The Seattle Storm demolishes the Dallas Wings behind Breanna Stewart's aggressive play, 83-65.
Breanna Stewart had a slow start against the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday, so coach Kloppenburg wanted Stewart to get more touches and be more aggressive against the Wings. Stewart not only had more touches but dominated the Wings in the paint. She was getting to her spots on the floor, being active on the glass, and taking advantage of her quickness getting to the rim against Arike Ogunbowale. Stewart set the tone early for the Storm as they dismantled the Wings from start to finish. Stewart finished the game with 21 points, 3 assists, and 6 rebounds.
The Storm had contributions from Alysha Clark and Jewell Loyd, who are starting to find their rhythm. Both players made it difficult for the Wings' guards to guard them because they were just too fast for the Wings. Clark hit some huge three-pointers to blow this game wide up for the Storm. Clark and Loyd combined for 27 points.
After getting the victory over the Wings, things are looking good for the Storm, as they continue their quest for another championship. Each game, it seems like another player steps up to the plate when called on. Stewart is having another MVP season as she averages 18.7 points per game, 8 rebounds per game, 3.6 assists per game, 2.0 steals a game, and 1.3 blocks per game. Watch out now, the Storm are making a statement each and every game against opponents and making it known that they are at full strength.
