Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson has been medically cleared to participate in the team’s 2025 training camp. Richardson, who missed the end of the offseason program due to a shoulder injury, is set to join the first practice session at the start of camp. Colts' general manager Chris Ballard expressed confidence in Richardson’s readiness, noting that the young quarterback is in excellent physical condition and prepared to move forward without restrictions.

The 23-year-old had been sidelined after injuring his right throwing shoulder. He sought a second opinion from a top orthopedic surgeon who confirmed surgery was not necessary and that Richardson would recover quickly. He resumed throwing about three weeks ago and has been working diligently to regain full form. The team plans to monitor his workload early in camp, but no significant limitations are expected.

As training camp begins, the quarterback position remains a key focus. Richardson will compete for the starting role against veteran Daniel Jones, who joined the Colts in the offseason. Head coach Shane Steichen has emphasized that the competition will be open and based on performance, with consistency playing an important role. Entering his third NFL season, Richardson aims to build on his past experiences and prove he can be the franchise’s long-term leader under center.

The Colts’ training camp officially kicks off with practice sessions at Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, Indiana, offering fans and media a first look at the team’s preparation for the upcoming season and the quarterback competition that lies ahead.
