Alternate helmets has been approved by the NFL for use in 2022 season

New York- On Thursday, NFL representatives confirmed that teams could wear alternate helmets with their uniforms starting next season.

In 2013 the NFL banned using a second helmet, because the NFL felt like wearing two helmets could cause some type of head injuries. With the improvement in advanced technology and head injuries deceasing, the NFL has decided to bring back the alternate helmets with stipulations.

Despite changes made for next seasons, players will have to be fitted by the start of training camp this year and the second helmet can only be worn with classic, alternate, or color rush jerseys.
