The San Francisco 49ers officially announced their 2026 regular season schedule, featuring a historic international slate, five primetime matchups, and several key games against playoff contenders.

San Francisco will make NFL history this season by becoming the first franchise to play regular season games in two different countries during non-consecutive weeks. The 49ers will open the season against the Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne, Australia before later hosting the Minnesota Vikings in Mexico City.

The Niners are also scheduled for five national primetime games, continuing their run as one of the NFL’s marquee franchises.

San Francisco’s season opener against the Rams will mark the NFL’s first-ever regular season game in Melbourne, Australia. Later in the year, the team heads to Mexico City for a Sunday Night Football matchup against Minnesota at Estadio Banorte.

The 49ers become just the second team in NFL history to play international games in two different countries during the same season. San Francisco will once again be heavily featured on national television with five primetime appearances, including matchups against Washington, Minnesota, the Chargers, and Philadelphia.

The back half of the schedule includes several difficult tests, including road trips to Dallas, Kansas City, and Los Angeles, along with a late-season showdown against the Eagles that could carry major NFC playoff implications. The 49ers will face five teams that reached the postseason in 2025: the Broncos, Chargers, Rams, Eagles, and Seahawks.

With international matchups, rivalry games, and several national TV appearances, the 2026 season could be one of the most high-profile campaigns in recent franchise history for San Francisco.
