Yankees get a steal from the Rays

New York- Earlier today, the Yankees went into their cookie jar and decided that they were going to offer the Rays some potential money in the future for David McKay. McKay has bounced around the league a bit. He has been a member of the Mariners and the Tigers, but has not found a home just yet. At 27 years old, he has a lot left in the tank with a golden egg with the Yankees.

The Yankees need a guy that they could depend on when games are tight. Mckay could provide that spark if he is healthy. In four minor league seasons, the right-handed pitcher has gone 18-11 with two saves and a 4.76 ERA (238.0IP, 239H, 138R/126ER, 91BB, 282K, 27HR) in 105 games (19 starts). He did not pitch during the 2021 season after undergoing hip surgery in April

It will be interesting to see how the Yankees will use him and if he could be that guy they need down the stretch. .
