WWE partnering with UFC for NXT Battleground on June 9

Back in late 2023 WWE and UFC merged forces to form TKO Group Holdings, the most lucrative entity in combat sports. Since merging the two brands have had separate runs of glory but now the two powerhouses will finally join forces to enhance WWE’s NXT brand. NXT Battleground will take place at the UFC APEX facility in Las Vegas on June 9, USA TODAY Sports confirms. The venue holds events such as UFC Fight Night and "Dana White’s Contender Series." This will mark the first time the venue will hold a wrestling event at a UFC facility.

"We are always exploring new frontiers to showcase NXT and we are excited to bring Battleground to this world-class event and production facility in partnership with UFC," WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels said in a statement. The UFC Apex opened in June 2019 and became the primary site of UFC events when the COVID-19 pandemic shut down other venues. It has a limited capacity for spectators, typically around 500, although UFC applied in 2022 for a permit to host events with up to 1,000 people.

Limited NXT Battleground Priority Passes will soon be available through exclusive partner on location, giving fans the chance to be ringside for every exhilarating moment, including premium seating, all-inclusive pre-show hospitality with WWE Superstar appearances, ringside photo opportunities, and much more. Starting today, fans can place a deposit to secure access ahead of the general public, as well as register for exclusive pre-sale opportunities.
