Victor Wembanyama's New York debut spoiled by Knicks 126-105

For the first time in his career Victor Wembanyama would be heading to the "Big Apple" to take on the Knicks. Wembanyama has lived up to the hype this far and could potentially be on pace for Rookie of the Year as well as Defensive Player of the Year. Again, it was too early for all of the speculation for those achievements, but with a record of 3-4, San Antonio would be happy as a child on Christmas Day to pull out the victory.

Could you say that the Spurs' offense was not really hitting on anything in the first half. Their young and talent star in Wembanyama was held to two points in two quarters. Yes, you read that correctly. New York was throwing everyone at him, which through him off his game. He finished the game with 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists.

San Antonio was just horrible from behind the arc, shooting less than 30%. It seemed like nothing could get worse for the Spurs. After being down 20, the Spurs had some bright spots in the second half.

Despite getting blown out, it was nice to see the young guns competing and trying to build some type of confidence within themselves. The Spurs could have waved the white flag, but if you know Coach Pop and the Spurs organization, they want hungry guys playing for them and that is what you saw with a lot of the first and second unit. San Antonio cut the Knicks to 14 with four minutes left in regulation, but the Knicks went on a 10-4 run to put the nail in the coffin.
