On Saturday, November 16, 2024, the XO Banquet Hall in North Hollywood was illuminated with hope and resilience as it hosted The Monique Woolley Foundation's 4th Annual Gala and Fundraising Event. This poignant evening was not only a celebration but also a powerful reminder of the foundation's mission to promote suicide awareness and support individuals grappling with depression.

The Monique Woolley Foundation, founded by Amour Delus in memory of her beloved daughter Monique, is dedicated to advocating for mental health care and fostering an environment where it is okay to not be okay. Following the tragic loss of Monique to suicide, Amour transformed her grief into a platform that empowers survivors, allowing them to share their stories and break the stigma surrounding mental health challenges.

The gala featured a vibrant yellow carpet, symbolizing hope and positivity, and was masterfully hosted by Tyrone Dubose, an accomplished R&B historian and actor. The event attracted numerous celebrities who stood in solidarity with the foundation’s mission. Among the attendees were Anthony Pazos from WeTV’s LA Hair, fitness influencer Holly Barker, and Petri Hawkins “Byrd” from Judge Judy, alongside many others, including cast members from Little Women LA and acclaimed artists.

The evening was not only about entertainment but also about honoring the courage of survivors and foundation ambassadors. Their inspiring journeys were shared, creating a deeply moving atmosphere. Honorees included Robert Jones, an entertainment industry veteran and military survivor; Chana Gedy, an influential leader in real estate and wellness; Humberto Meza, an actor and author; and Jennifer Messina, a captivating music artist whose performance resonated with the audience.

Darrell Dupre, Vice President of The Monique Woolley Foundation, poignantly noted, “It’s so important that we check on one another because we never truly know what others are going through in life. I speak from experience, having felt alone and hopeless at times.”

The gala also celebrated its generous sponsors, including Vahe Karapetyan of XO Banquet Hall and Candice Bourne Enang, who contributed an original painting for the auction. A special highlight was celebrity Petri Hawkins “Byrd” winning the final bid for this stunning artwork, further supporting the foundation’s cause.

Musical performances added to the evening's vibrancy, featuring artists like Maleke Clemmons, Mason & Julez Continho, and God's Maestro (Meltudvo), who brought the night to a close with an electrifying blend of Afrobeats, R&B, and Hip-Hop.

The Monique Woolley Foundation continues to spread its uplifting message through the hashtag #WhenFeelingBlueThinkYellow, encouraging individuals to reach out and support one another.
