The Lynx shocked by New York in Game 1 81-75

To kick off the WNBA playoffs were the Minnesota Lynx and the New York Liberty, a rematch of the 2024 WNBA playoffs.

The Lynx had to overcome a 15-7 run early on, but after Coach Reaves called a timeout, they went on a 12-6 run to get back in the game. Nia Coffey came off the bench and put on a three-point clinic, as she finished with 12 points. Despite the groggy started, the Lynx got their offense rolling and finished the half with a 44-40 lead.

Coming out of the half, the Lynx wanted to contain Stewie and stop turning the ball over. The second half for the Lynx was a grind it out half. Olivia Miles had a tough third quarter as she had three fouls and could not get going offensively. While Miles was trying to find her rhythm, the OG in Kayla McBide was on a heater and carried her team in the third, scoring 10 points.

Heading into the fourth, the Lynx's concern was the amount of intensity on the defensive side of the ball and stopping Stewie. Breanna Stewart was the headache that the Lynx could not shake. Stewie put on a clinic and helped the Liberty shock the Lynx
