The Jaguars get their first win of the season, as they defeated the Colts, 27-20
Jacksonville- The Jacksonville Jaguars get their first victory of the season, as they score late in the fourth quarter to beat the Colts, 27-20.
With a different look on both sides of the ball, the Jaguars wanted to come out the gate with a positive outcome in their first game against the Indianapolis Colts. Phillip Rivers moved his team down the field on their first possession.Colts' running back Nyheim Hines took it to the house on a 12-yard run to go up 7-0 against the Jaguars. In the second quarter the Jaguars was in business after Rivers threw an interception to CJ Henderson. Jacksonville took advantage of the turnover. Jags' QB Gardner Minshew threw a touchdown pass to DJ Clark to tie up the game 7-7 with under eight minutes left in the second quarter. With under five minutes left in the half, Rivers threw a 8-yard screen pass to Hines, as he rumbled into the endzone for his second score of the day. The Colts went back up 14-7. Minshew threw his second touchdown pass to Laviska Shenault Jr. to tie up the game 14-14. Before the end of the half, the Colts kicked a field goal that was good and went into the half with a 17-14 lead over the Jaguars.
The Jags got themselves back into the game, as they kicked a field goal on their first possession of the second half to tie the game, 17-17. The Jaguars' defense got the stops that they needed to get the Colts' offense off the field, but the Jags' offense struggled to get anything going in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Colts tacked on another field goal to go up 20-17 over the Jags with under seven minutes left in regulation. The Jaguars got a field goal and added a go ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter to go up 27-20 over the Colts and get their first victory of the season.
Minshew finished the game 19 of 20 for 173 yards and 3 touchdowns.
