The 57th Annual CMA Awards, hosted by Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning, airs tonight at 8 p.m., ET
For those who are not familiar with the CMA Awards here's some background information about it. The first “CMA Awards Banquet and Show” was held in 1967. In the following year, the CMA Awards were broadcast for the first time on network television, making it the longest-running, annual music awards program on network television today. Since 2006, the CMA Awards have been broadcast on ABC. ABC hosts the CMA Awards and CMA’s other two television properties, “CMA Fest” and “CMA Country Christmas.”
Early winners were revealed this morning in two categories. "Wait in the truck," produced by HARDY, Joey Moi, Jordan Schmidt and Derek Wells, was nominated for CMA Music Video of the Year alongside their nomination for CMA Musical Event of the Year. CMA Awards hosts Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning welcomed Spencer to Bridgestone Arena for a behind-the-scenes sneak peek before the show. Spencer shared the news live from Nashville on ABC's "Good Morning America."
Paula Abdul, Bill Anderson, Nate Bargatze, Kevin Cahoon, Jordan Davis, Cynthia Erivo, Sara Evans, Brian Kelley, Martina McBride, Darius Rucker, Corey Seager and many more will present at the CMA Awards tonight.
There will be some excellent performances from some of the biggest names in music like Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Luke Combs, Alan Jackson, Jelly Roll, Cody Johnson, K. Michelle, Little Big Town, Mac McAnally, Ashley McBryde, Old Dominion, Carly Pearce, Post Malone, Zac Brown Band, among others. The broadcast will start at 8 pm ET.
