Coming into this season, CJ Stroud's play was talked a lot about. A lot of fans felt like he had dropped off from his rookie year and needed to be more patient with putting the ball where his receivers can only catch it. Fans, as well as members of media wanted to see a bounce back season from Stroud. In his season open, he had a tale of two halves. In the first half, he was dialed in, making right reads and getting his star plays the ball early on. In the second half, Stroud was not accurate with the deep ball and threw a pick, which resulted in the Rams scoring. Stroud finished the game 19/ 27 for 188 yards and 1 pick.

Even though Stroud is the floor general, the running attack was pretty much non-existent until the fourth quarter. Nick Chubb carried the ball 13 ties for 60 yards. Now, the bright spot for the Texans was their defense. They put Matthew Stafford on his butt during the game and held Kyren Williams to 66 yards on the ground. Houston's defense kept them in the game as they forced a couple crucial third and outs in the fourth quarter. Their offense just was not in sync.
