Team USA has no problem with Puerto Rico in exhibition play 117-74

In a tune up match with Puerto Rico, Team USA shows their dominance in lopsided victory.

Going into the exhibition match against Puerto Rico, there were a lot of critics that attempted to downplay Team USA and their ability to be a force in the FIBA tournament. Welp, I guess each of the players heard the noise and put on a show against Puerto Rico. Seven of Team USA's players finished in double figures and shot around 55% from the field.

Here is what Steve Kerr had to say about their performance last night. It was A great night for us. ... I think the guys have really picked up what we're trying to install at both ends,” U.S. coach Steve Kerr said.

“It’s just us playing together,” Brunson said. “We’re still getting to know each other, but everyone’s really putting egos aside just to win and we’ve got a lot of high-character guys. That’s the No. 1 priority for every single one of them.”

Team USA will have four more tune up games before the tournament starts in the next couple of weeks. It will be very interesting to see how this small line-up will play and overcome adversity when they play bigger teams, but for now Team USA has settled the negative chirps and have quited them down.
